Widgets

Thursday, 29 January 2009 04:52 by Mark

We've just developed a little car parts search widget which can be used on webpages, blogs, Facebook etc.

Check out www.widgetbox.com if you want to set up your own widget. The baby widget is especially cool, for expectant mothers / fathers.

Air fresheners for all...

Thursday, 22 January 2009 06:43 by Mark

One of the downsides of driving a branded MicksGarage.ie car around is that frequently motorists will cruise up beside you at traffic lights and ask you any number of questions, whether its looking for a bumper for a Ford Mustang, or looking for advice about servicing their car. Now this is not a bad thing as it can lead to sales but when the lights go green and you're still explaining something to a fellow driver it can cause motorists behind to get slightly irate. So what i've started doing is throwing a free MicksGarage air freshener into the car of anyone that beckons me on the road, which has our contact details on it so they can drop us an e-mail later on.....and they even get a free air freshener!

So if anyone spots the MicksGarage car or van out and about, feel free to pull up beside me (provided it's safe to do so) and I always have a few air fresheners to hand out.,, can't say fairer than that!

deadly virus

Tuesday, 20 January 2009 10:09 by Mark

Word of warning - There's a particularly bad computer virus doing the rounds at the moment. The virus is attacking networks, memory cards and other accessories and is estimated to have hit 9million PCs (and rising). Apparently Microsoft has a patch to sort it out so if you do manage to get hit with it, get on to www.Microsoft.com to sort it out. We know of a couple of people who have been hit with it and word has it that it a very nasty one.

Thanks to all who particpated in our customer survey! we've had nearly 800 respondents and some great feedback to take on board as we head into 2009. We will be implementing several of your suggestions over the coming months. The draw for the Sat Nav takes place tomorrow morning so I'll let you know who wins.

Take our survey

Friday, 9 January 2009 08:52 by Mark

MicksGarage is currently conducting an online survey to try and find out what our customers / website visitors think about us. We want honest feedback (good or bad) so we can make sure we're on the right track, and so that we can make a few changes if they are required. As of now, we've had about 450 respondents but the more people that take the survey the more accurate the findings will be. It only takes a couple of minutes to complete...and there's a draw for a Sat Nav for survey participants.

Take our survey here:

Looking forward to 2009...

Wednesday, 7 January 2009 10:49 by Mark

Happy New Year to all ! We're back for 2009 (we were actually back last week..) and The Filter is looking forward to a new year of motoring news and innovation. MicksGarage added a shed-load of new products last year and we're looking forward to expanding with even more this year - timing belt kits and car-specific armrests are just some items on our radars for the months ahead.

And what can we look forward to on the roads in 2009 - the Red Cow roundabout back to normal?? a reduction in commuter times for Irish workers?? The abolition of tolls??? - we can only dream!
