bluetooth phone kit

Tuesday, 30 June 2009 05:48 by Mark

We've launched a new product on the website, it's the Seecode Wheel, which is a very good bluetooth hands-free car kit which allows you to make and receive calls without taking your hands from the steering wheel. It attaches safely and discreetly onto your steering wheel and you can work away making calls (legally and safely). It stores up to 600 numbers from your mobile phone's phonebook, and it has caller ID.

It's definitely one of the most innovative products to come out of the the mobile phone car kit sector in a long time. It's getting some seriously good feedback in the carkit market.

Seecode Wheel Bluetooth Car-kit

 here's the science bit...

  • Removable battery with USB charging

  • Fully integrated Bluetooth hands-free device
  • Universal mounting system, fits all steering wheels
  • Name & number shown in the display
  • Graphic display with backlight

    Newstalk 106

    Friday, 26 June 2009 06:53 by Mark

For those of you that were up very early this morning you may have caught Ciaran from MicksGarage analysing the newspaper business pages on Newstalk 106 early morning business news with Conor Brophy. The news of Michael Jackson's demise meant that there was less time for extensive analysis of the business pages but when such a big celebrity dies, business affairs take a back seat for a while.

As an aside, the revised Newstalk morning show line-up of Claire Byrne and Ivan Yates seems to be working very well and we wish them well with the show.

The roof box for apartment dwellers

    Wednesday, 3 June 2009 08:54 by Mark

Here's something we just launched onto the website. It's a roof box / bag solution which will suit those living in apartments or small houses with very little storage space (probably half the population of Ireland).
The 'Pack & Drive' is a soft 330litre roof box, which does away with the problem of storing a roof box.  It has an ingenious PVC three-layer PVC sheet design, guaranteeing that it is waterproof, and heat-formed reinforcements to hold the load in place during transportation. And then afterwards it folds back into a handy storage bag.
The biggest issue we hear with regard to roof boxes is "where will I store it afterwards?" So the 'Pack & Drive' is a welcome addition to our roof box range.

Tropical conditions lead to upturn in car accessory market

    Tuesday, 2 June 2009 09:48 by Mark

The sweltering heat is seeing an upturn in the sales of certain products on the website. I can see the business page headlines now: "Tropical conditions lead to upturn in car accessory market"

Us Irish haven't had the need for some of these products in over two years but there has been a splurge on certain products

sun shades - for the hordes of families travelling in the car to the beach or picnic destination, if you don't have a sun shade there will no doubt be trouble in the back seat!

air conditioning cleaner - which cleans out the rotten smells and bacteria from the air conditioning system in a car. Air Con is a lifeline for drivers in these arid times

car care - it's amazing how car conscious we become when the good weather kicks in. Some people love nothing better than giving their car a good scrub themselves. Car care products are up...

wind deflectors - we deserve to be able to drive with the windows down and it wastes fuel to use the air con, so people are turning to wind deflectors as the solution

roof boxes -  the saviour of families throughout Ireland! A roof box is a necessity for many young families with buggies, blankets, nappies and bottles all crammed into the boot. The roof box takes away the pain of a packed car. As per usual you left it late before the bank holiday weekend but we had the usual last minute mayhem with roof box and roof bar fittings on Friday and Saturday...

Irish motorists are realising that with the amount of time we are spending in our cars, we may as well be comfortable. And this heat makes it even more important. Hopefully the good weather continues ...it's good for business.
