A couple of us from MicksGarage attended the eCommerce Expo in London yesterday. This is an event where companies offering products and services of use to online retailers and other eCommerce companies get to showcase their wares. The eCommerce sector is booming, as was eveident from the amount of exhibitors and attendees at the event. It was great to see an Irish company exhibiting there - Denise Cox from Newsweaver, the leading newsletter specialists, did a very impressive and well-attended seminar at the event.

As for MicksGarage, we picked up some great tips, advice and contacts, so you can expect to see continuing improvements in our website. It's important for an online retailer to continue to make the user experience better and website functionality can always be improved upon. We took some great ideas away from this event and it will definitely go into the diary for next year.

This week is Road Safety Week, a campaign being run by the Road Safety Authority in order to raise awareness. There are a series of events taking place to mark it, free car safety checks and free high vis jackets for over 65 year olds. Check out the RSA website here to see more.

Ciaran from MicksGarage will be speaking at an event tomorrow morning run by Wexford County Enterprise Board in the Ferrycarrig hotel, Wexford.  The Wexford Owner Manager Network is a breakfast Network that is open to all owner managers in Wexford. It enables members to meet other business owners, discuss business topics, make contacts and build on previous learning.

There could be good news in store for Sat Nav motorists in Ireland The Irish Times Motoring reports today that Navteq, the GPS technology company is in talks with Ordinance Survey Ireland about supplying mapping data. This could be good news for Sat Nav users in this country who will know only too well that the Irish mapping on their devices is well behind the changes in the roads. A deal with OSI could speed things up significantly in upgrading of the maps. Fingers crossed...
