Beware of cars that travel back in time...

Both the Times and the Indo today report on some shocking statistics from AA Ireland that almost one in five used cars imported from the UK / N. Ireland have had their mileage changed or "clocked". Buyer Beware is the message to car buyers and this is an issue which the National Consumer Agency has attempted to tackle in the past. Apparently Audi, VW and Ford are the imported cars most commonly being clocked, and be especially wary of ex fleet cars. So if you're considering an import, just make sure to do your homework first.  A clocked car can be a danger on the road and can also cost you later on if you're looking for a trade-in.
