New car sales

The Irish Examiner reports that new car sales for September were down more than a third on last year, with 4,364 cars registered in September, down by 2,310 compared to Sept last year. Overall this year new car sales are down 17%. Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Opel and Nissan remain the most popular brands among buyers. Sean MacCarthaigh reports that several manufacturers across the world are forecasting lower figures than previously expected.
